Today 5 Was The New Five

My good friend Salome (ok, not her real name, but it is equally as biblical and maleficent) is moving to TN very soon. We've been friends since about 6th grade. She has two adorable little children and her hubby has been gone for almost 4 weeks already and poor Salome was about ready to go out of her mind, being alone with her two small children in her very small apartment all the while trying to pack up her entire life and prepare to move it 18 hours away. So, being the good friend that I like to believe I am, I picked up her two cherubs from daycare this afternoon and let them in on a slice of life Tricia style.
My husband forgot all about my plans to do this today and when he called to see how things were and I mentioned that I now had five children he was a bit confused. We had a great time though. We went for a walk in my sidewalk-less, pit bull -full neighborhood, and survived. We played on bikes in the driveway and then we made these adorable picture frames, with tissue paper and modge podge and glitter and confetti! (all of the above are now mingling on the floor with the Rold Gold). Then we ate pizza and finished it off with purple ice cream and M&M's. Now these kids can go off to TN thinking that I am the funnest Mom ever!
Five was not so bad. Although it was definitely a few decibels louder than three, and a few more diapers, it was fun, and not that much more work.
I was kind of sad though because this was more than likely the last playdate for my kids and Salome's as they are headed south next week. That's why I made the frames and took so many pictures. Well, I told her that she'll just have to start her own Blog so that I can keep tabs on exactly what's going on. Don't worry, I'll give you all the link once she does.

Multiplying like rabbits...

First Son has an Easter party at school tomorrow and these cute little bunny cupcakes will be tagging along. Sure, they think it is all fun and games, till one of them gets eaten! So, this is what I have spent my night creating. Who got kicked off AI? I don't know (yes, I do), I have been slaving away making bunny cupcakes! Each whisker was carefully placed with a set of tweezers. Will these frisky four year olds appreciate my hard labor? Well, Curly told me they were "boofifull Mommy". That's sweet. Hopefully they will all appreciate the chocolate egg that's baked inside each cupcake. Darn, now I've gone and ruined the surprise.

Oh well, time to go clean up the mess in the kitchen.

What are my contractual obligations?

So I sweep my kitchen floor, several times a day, and yet it never ceases to amaze me just how much can accumulate in a short time. I know that food reaches their mouths and even their tummies, because they just keep growing. I mean we are solely responsible for keeping Old Navy & Payless in business. People are left with their mouths hanging open when I explain that they are "only" 3 and "only" 4 1/2. Just today one woman almost had a stroke when she saw that my 3 1/2 month old was the same size as her 10 month old. That's right, we grow 'em big. But really, about my floor problem, should I get a dog or should I just invest in a couple of "feeding funnels"? Make them clean it up? Sure. Today I asked them to get a broom and dustpan and take care of the pretzel farm that popped up on the kitchen floor, before I knew it they were pushing a pad less Swiffer around, all the while giggling and pushing the button and sending a storm of Swiffer juice all over the place. It is almost 11Pm and I am still stepping on Rold Gold. Am I contractually obligated to continue feeding them?

Is it wrong to want to eat your offspring?

Seriously, I just want to grab a spoon and slurp them up sometimes. Paddy Boy's sparkly eyes get me every time! He smiles at me and gurgles and drools and it's almost too much to take.

Off and blogging!

So, here I am blogging world! I have been thinking about a blog for some time now, and so I decided to stop thinking and just start typing. We'll see what comes out. I don't really know for sure what this blog will be about ultimately but I presume it will be a window into my life and the musings of my brain with a couple of fun stories involving my three descendants. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading it, and if not well, no one is forcing you to read!
